Illegal Beings: Human Clones

To everquestioning

libfemme ( 07/30/2004, 10:19:17 )

Memories do not reside in genes. If they did you would remember your mother and father's memories since you inherit their genes.Memories are a function connections between brain cells. Memories are stored at the tissue level not the DNA level.A clone is the same thing as an identical twin. Cloning Stalin's DNA would give you an identical twin brother of Stalin. Whatever traits are genetic would exist also in the clone. Whatever traits are the result of environment, ie upbringing, experience, culture etc would of necessity be different. A clone of Stalin would not speak Russian. Unless you taught him Russian. Would he be a communist? Probably not, but he probably would be a radical activist of some type. In other words general personality traits of risk taking, conformist, morality, collectivist vs individualist, etc. might be the result of over all brain pattern, and hence genetic. But specific doctrines and ideas would not be. He might be a priest or social worker, instead.
