1000yrsfromnow ( 10/28/2004, 17:13:53 )there should be no ban at all, just strictly guarded research, i'm sorry, but it's the governments of our world who are most of the problems we the people must deal with, yes, humans need policing to a degree, but just like crime, it's all big business, and if the government feels it has totally control and reaps most of the benefits, they won't diminish crime, and i guarantee right now, there are government biotechs and such doing all kinds of cloning and stem cells apllication research, they just don't want johnny public knowing about it. just like the issues with medicinal, recreational and industiral hemp legalization. the government has been gorwing hemp by the field worth, storing in warehouses, figuring out every application they can profit from before it is o.k.'d, they want total control of it all, tax base, packaging etc, lots of issues that are right up there with stem cell and cloning research and application. between stem cell application and legalizing growing hemp there is such possibilities for employment positions, job creations and the like. and i believe that we would all benefit better( the world) if humans would concentrate it's technology and intelligence on our continued existance instead of how many ways we can become extinct, wouldn't you say? J.C.
