Cloning - Can it reverse life ?rohit ( 11/17/2004, 01:14:40 )Dear Everyone,This is my first post the this forum.I have often thought of this - Can the cloning process be used to reverse the ageing process ? We know that in cloning we use a single cell to develop a complete individual, isnt it ? So, can we use the same cell, decode all the genetic information, then define all the genes which are responsible for selective differentiation into particular groups of cells, and then replace them at fixed intervals (say liver cells die after a certain time, so we replace them before that). If we do like this, we have a new population of fresh cells, and as a result the process of ageing will be interrupted (OR delayed).Alternately, we identify apoptotic genes, and silence them selectively, so that our normal body cells which are essential for life, do not die after a certain time. If you have any idea of where can i found information related to this, any links, etc, i will be grateful to you.Regards, Rohit ![]() This Message is being posted for educational purposes, as well as for comment and criticism, by the visitors to the HumanCloning.org Foundation website (www.HumanCloning.org ).
