Can you imagine a time when the Red Cross stops asking for blood donors? Hospitals will just order it like they do other supplies either in every possible type, or in the "universal donor" type O.It would eliminate the fear of blood borne diseases for nurses drawing blood and for patients receiving the transfusion.The article said as many as 2 million intensive-care patients each year need transfusions for anemia. I wonder if that is just in France. It could be a huge market.And the end of blood banks would eliminate that particular plotline in modern vampire movies.
