New Year 2005

libfemme ( 01/01/2005, 16:30:49 )

2005 is likely to be a watershed year for human cloning and scientific freedom. The first attempts in Europe to clone human embryos for medical research will start in Britian. The Centre for Life has permission to clone human embryos to develop new treatments for diabete. Ian Wilmut of the Roslin Institute, where Dolly was cloned, and the Institute of Psychiatry, London are likely to be approved in 2005 to clone ESC for new treatments for motor neuron disease.New Year's Day also marks the beginning of South Korea's new law allowing research on human embryonic stem cells for infertility treatment. This time next year we may have a lot more to talk about.
