The human surplus league
libfemme ( 01/02/2005, 13:25:02 )Do we need more?That question has been asked countless times through out history. Of what value are people of other races? Of other religions? Who needs the poor? The jews? The blacks? Why not rid society of the mentally defective?Every time this question has been asked however, the assumption is that the "surplus" is always someone else, never ourselves.Of what value are christians? To a fundamentalist moslem they are nothing but a blight upon the world. A moslem's life would be so much easier if they could just get rid of a few christian westerns. Would you go along with that?People are never needed. They exist for their own sakes. No one has has to justify their existence to the rest of society or prove some usefulness to society. The purpose of life is life itself. Men exist for themselves, not the sake of society.If you think the world is overcrowded, are you willing to make the sacrifice and end your own life? What's to say that you provide any usefulness to the rest of us? Why is it that it is always other people who we want to curtail, but never ourselves? Why is it we never see ourselves as the cause of overcrowding?Think about what you have just said and its true consequences. And then read the Nazi's justification for genocide. The Soviet justification for the starvation of the Ukrainans. Ruwanda's justification for the death of millions. Every genocide, every pogam, every inquistition in history begins with one group saying "do we really need more (fill in the blank)."
