Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Why would you want such a baby?

libfemme ( 12/24/2004, 12:38:46 )

You do realize that when you clone someone what you initially get is that person as a infant? When you make/pay for a clone you then have the responsibility of raising it for 20 years as you would any adopted child. Therefore, what woman or man says to themselves "gee I would like to raise a child that will grow up to be a hot babe in 20 years?" I mean no one wants to have an ugly child, but neither is the motivation to spend all that time raising, loving, transporting the kid to soccer games, and getting her braces etc. simply because she will grow up to be an object of someone else's sexual interest. If you cloned this 22 year old woman you would be making yourself a "parent". Is that the responsibility you want? If so why not just have a child the natural way and be done with it. The natural is free, easy and available right now.If you want to spend the 50,000 to 100,000 dollars to clone this girl who will act as the surogate mother for 9 months and carry her in her womb? Will that be you?A clone is not an adult copy. It is a baby. Cloning is a method of becoming a parent. A difficult and expensive way and therefore is only desirable for people who are infertile and can't have a child by any of the cheaper and easier methods such as naturally.
