Re: The Rapture

No you're not different. There have been other people, philosophers who have thought this way. It's not the way I think, but then I only acquired this way of looking at times over time. I can tell you how I go about it.What you need is a "reality check". You make a prediction based upon what you believe to be the true state of things. Then you see if your prediction comes true or not. For instance:I believe that if I don't see a tree the tree doesn't exist. Ok, then close your eyes and walk outside. Put some cotton in your ears so you can't hear leaves russel in the wind, and hold your nose so you can't smell anything. If your belief of something is what makes it real, then you won't bump into anything you don't think of first. If you have no belief that a tree is in front of you, you won't walk into one. On the other hand if you experience pain despite your belief that nothing's there, you've encountered reality. You might enjoy watching the video "A Beautiful Mind", which dramatizes the real life of a schizophrenic who also happen to be a math genius who won a nobel prize. It deals with the subject how can you tell the difference between delusions and reality?
