Illegal Beings: Human Clones

Why shouldn't the universe exist?

libfemme ( 12/24/2004, 13:12:00 )

There is a very clear description of how planets i.e. worlds come to form from interstellar gas. Planets are not rare. They exist else where in the solar system and the galaxy. There are billions of galaxies visible. This is in contradiction to what the Bible implies, which is that the earth is flat (it has 4 corners) consists of primarily the eastern mediterrean (no mention of the Americas, Australia or Antartica)and it is the "only" world God created.Quite obviously your information on the nature of the "world" is woefully inaccurate. No one created the world. The world exists because it can exist.Your statement carries the assumption that "nothingness" is the natural state of things. And that what you would expect is nothingness. And of course there is nothingness in this universe. Vast spaces of interstellar space seem to have nothing in them. It is just that we have a universe in which both nothing and something both exist. All possibilities exist.Your assumption is that nothing, and only nothing, should exist. But you also assume a God, which by definition is a something. So who created God?The universe exists because we can see that it exists. Why is a question that may not be relevant, but certainly the vengeful God of Abraham and Moses does not adequately explain the working of quarks and black holes.Of course you may "believe" in a God. Belief is not proof. It is a statement about your state of mind, not about the universe. Why you believe in a God I suspect has nothing at all to do with proof that the planet exists. It is far more personal. You "feel" the presence of God inside you. Again that is a statement about your subjective experience, which while interesting to you, have no bearing on whether or not a universe outside of you was created by a God.
