It is the first country to embrace Christianity in the Asian region, the one with the largest number of converts since Magellan set foot in one of its islands.484 years ago after the priest converted the Philippine natives, the Spanish tyranny begun to spread...it would be easy to accept if the domination was a due to the military rule as it is usual to the flow of situation (conqueror - slave relationship). However, most of the perpetrators were priest, who used religion and twisted doctrines as their tool to satisfy their greed of power and wealth.During that era, the priest were too powerful that even the general of spanish soldiers can be replaced anytime the highest priest wanted. Now, this is not to say that I believe God is a tyrant being...it is men who have done the tyranny, their will to Christianize the Philippine natives were concealed, by the prestens that what they are doing is for the benifits and glory of Christianity.It is the human being who has the imperfection and freedome to chose (or inclination to abuse?) that make these abominable scenario one of our friend saw. This may only be a historical record of a country but it holds the truth ...it is not the Christianity being refered to ... the god you see as tyrant George Cloning might be a solution www.humancloning.org
