Cazzah ( 03/20/2005, 01:51:55 )Im sorry but you are getting mixed up. You are thinking of "Lamarckian evolution" (as opposed to Darwinian evolution). Lamarkian evolution says that a creature passes on the changes in its LIFETIME,(example the giraffe came about because it stretched it's neck to reach trees so its neck grew and all it's babies had a long neck) Darwinian evolution says that every creature is a little different at BIRTH (some are taller, shorter, lighter skin, darker skin etc) and that the favourable characteristics are passed on (eg a giraffe born with a longer neck would survive and pass on the longer neck). Lamarckian evolution was proved wrong (Do you see amputees who have children without arms or legs?) AND MAY I CORRECT THE OFT MOST MISTAKE MADE IN SCIENCE EVER!!!! DARWIN DID NOT SAY HUMANS CAME FROM APEs.
